Overview
Professional Practice credentials offer a new way to recognise the skills and knowledge people have developed through learning, work and experience. Credentials are designed for experienced professionals looking for formal recognition of their skills and knowledge. They may be recognised by their employer or industry as proof of their capability, which could also lead to credit towards further study at Deakin University.
Challenge
Deakin University wanted to improve the submission process to aid completion rate and encourage students to engage with what appeared to be quite a daunting process. The current flow was not clear and left participants unsure as to how to proceed, which resulted in a high volume of calls to the help desk.
Solution
Working closely with the UX design lead we redesigned the existing submission process to create a more intuitive experience. Customer interviews were conducted to observe students negotiate the existing procedure and try to uncover the main pain points and identify opportunities:
• Create a clear and simple submission process
• Give students visibility on where they are in the submission process and how many more steps are needed for completion.
• Enable students to save their submission and come back at a later time to complete it.
• Enable students to use smaller devices to create and submit their submission.
